Design Ignites Change was a project put together through the work of a team and myself. The purpose was to use graphic design in a way as to inspire social change. Working with the neighborhood of Lower Allston we decided to address issues of gentrification and community building. 

After walking every street of the neighborhood and discussing with as many locals as possible what life was like we set out to improve everyday life in that community. What we found through our research was that many of the things locals asked for already existed. The problem was not with a lack of resources but rather that the resources available to the community were not being communicated effectively. 

Through graphic design my team and I created a map that showed off important local spots. This map would allow residents to know what it is already available to them. and show others why they might want to visit this little part of the city.
